Be my classmate in PG

For those of you
Who think that you have had enough of college..
Who are expecting the day, you will receive a 5 digit salary,
Who are anticipating to counter 'a rude cultural shock' in IT,
Who are planning to shift companies before you stepped into one....

I am working as a software engineer in an MNC who had all the dreams mentioned above. I am sure most of you are like me, sharing at least a few of my dreams.

There are a few myths that i would like to get rid of here:

1.You can make more money compared to someone who does a PG. ( People from PG enter into better grades with higher annual salaries.I have been saving money for one year and i tell you it is so insignificant to have spent an year)

2.If you have decided to be an IT professional you must start preparing for aptitude tests.( The IT industry is looking for highly competitive individuals with computer skills) ( Will add more on this soon, under the category 'What the industry wants') (http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2008/04/09/stories/2008040950650400.htm)

3.IT is the only industry where you can earn more. (With more manufacturing units being setup all over India, We(Non-IT students must be quick enough to spot our future employers) .Other sectors have started paying handsome compensations , IT has started cost cutting!!!
http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2007/08/04/stories/2007080452380100.htm ( just one example)

I strongly urge you all, my young friends, to take up higher studies, if you are not caught up in any serious financial or family commitment.

With more IITs,IIMs coming in.... The chances for a getting into a quality institution is at an all time high...

Its too early to start cross checking the annual salaries with yr friends who are selected for other companies...
You must start checking the institutional rankings instead.. (
http://www.careerlauncher.com/mba/about_mba/top_b_schools_in_India.html for an example....)

So start having different dreams…Who knows we can be classmates in our PG???????????
